Kyle Smith got his start in college radio at SCSU's KVSC in St.Cloud, MN. He held the position Music Direct and Program Director from 1990-93'.  He was an on-air host and producer at Alternative station Rev105 from 1995-97 in Minneapolis/St.Paul.  Kyle worked in the Salt Lake City and Burlington VT markets in commercial radio, before starting at WYEP as the Morning Host in 1998.  Kyle became the Director of Content and Programming in 2008, and has been the Midday Host and Music Director since 2016.  WYEP is an Adult Album Alternative formatted Public media station located on the South Side of Pittsburgh.  WYEP was just named Best Radio Station in Pittsburgh City Paper Best of 2025 Reader's poll.
